Our Speech & Language Screening is a brief developmental check-in designed to help families better understand their child’s communication skills and determine whether further evaluation may be needed.
During the 20-minute screening, your child will engage in two short, age-appropriate tasks that allow us to compare their speech and language development to other children of the same age and sex. The activities are play-based, supportive, and designed to feel comfortable for young children.
If your child’s skills fall within expected ranges:
You will receive a speech and language milestones checklist to help you monitor development moving forward.
If results indicate concern:
You will receive a brief written summary outlining the screening results and recommendations. This report can be shared with your child’s Primary Care Manager (PCM) to support a referral for a comprehensive speech-language evaluation, if appropriate.
A screening is not a diagnosis and does not replace a full speech-language evaluation.
This service is intended to guide next steps and provide clarity—not to label or pathologize development.
Time: 20 minutes
Cost: $40 (non-refundable)
Ages: Children of all ages welcome
Early questions deserve thoughtful answers. A screening can help you decide whether to monitor, support at home, or pursue a full evaluation with confidence.
